Manchester United submit enquiry for Daichi Kamada

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Daichi Kamada.

According to a report from Daily Mail, Manchester United have made an enquiry to sign the 26-year-old Japanese international who will be out of contract at the end of the season.

Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has been ruled with a long-term injury, and the Red Devils are looking to bring in replacements for the Denmark international.

Kamada has been in impressive form for the Bundesliga outfit this season, and he has 12 goals and 5 assists to his name across all competitions. It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils can secure a move for the Japanese international before the transfer window closes.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils have been linked with a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer, and Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco as well. The Red Devils have shown considerable improvement under Erik ten Hag, and they are well-placed to secure Champions League qualification this season.

The injury to Eriksen will certainly weaken the squad during the second half of the campaign. And it remains to be seen whether Manchester United can bring in necessary reinforcements before the January transfer window closes.

Eriksen picked up an ankle injury during Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Reading in the FA Cup on Saturday, and he is set to be sidelined for three months. Kamada has shown his quality in the Bundesliga in the recently-concluded World Cup with Japan.

The 26-year-old is at the peak of his career right now, and he could be a useful squad player for Manchester United. The Japanese international will be able to leave Eintracht Frankfurt as a free agent in the summer and the German club could consider selling him for a nominal price this month.

It remains to be seen whether the two parties can come to an agreement in the next few hours. Kamada is likely to be tempted to join a club like Manchester United, and the opportunity to move to the Premier League would be a major step up in the player’s career.
