Everton are keen to sign experienced Ghanaian striker Andre Ayew on a free transfer to bolster their attack on deadline day.
According to Daily Mail, Andre Ayew has emerged on Everton’s shortlist of strikers for deadline day. Sean Dyche is keen to bolster the attack in this window as the Toffees look to make a late dash to sign the 33-year-old Ghanaian striker.
Sean Dyche is eager to revive Everton’s hope in their quest to stay alive in the Premier League this season. Before this season, one of the worst aspects of the Toffees was their lack of goals, as their attack showed faltering signs under Frank Lampard.
Dyche is well known for his experience fighting relegation battles with Burnley. For now, he seems like the ideal appointment for Everton, who are in a similar situation and in desperate need of boosting confidence in the team.
After concluding the saga surrounding Anthony Gordon, who left for Newcastle United, Everton are looking at a few attacking talents on deadline day. Dyche reportedly wants a new striker to help them score goals between now and the end of the season.
Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is a reported target, and Everton have reportedly had a £22 million bid accepted for the winger. Southampton are also on the case, but Dyche now wants Andre Ayew. The 33-year-old is a free agent after terminating his contract with Qatari outfit Al-Sadd.
Ayew has experience in the Premier League and the fitness levels to play in the Premier League again. He showcased that when captaining Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and could become an important player for the next six months for Everton.
The Toffees face a race against time to register him. And before that, they need to find an agreement with the 33-year-old. He has previously played with West Ham United and Swansea City in the Premier League, scoring 21 goals.
Ayew could represent a late buy but someone who can be relied upon to score important goals. Everton need as may good players as possible. But someone with the 33-year-old Ghanaian striker’s experience would help their cause.
