Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to sanction the departure of Emerson Royal for a price of €25 million in this transfer window.
As per Interlive, Tottenham Hotspur are contemplating a sale of right-back Emerson Royal in this transfer window. The North Londoners have set a price tag of €25 million for the Brazilian defender.
Tottenham are planning to raise funds which could further be used for new signings. Emerson has fallen out of favour especially after the World Cup as Matt Doherty has emerged as the preferred choice on the right side of the defence.
A number of overseas clubs are interested in making an offer for the player but Spurs are inclined towards offering the player to Inter Milan as a part of a player plus cash deal to entice Denzel Dumfries to North London.
There has been a training ground incident with one of the first team coaches recently and it could further accelerate his transfer. The player has received severe criticism for his efforts but it will be very unlikely he will push for a move outside the club.
The Brazilian admitted he always gives his 100 per cent for the club on the pitch.
“It’s not up to me to say whether the crowd’s opinion is fair or not. There are people who pay [to watch matches], but there are many people in favour.
“I do not seek to see these questions [about me]. I prefer to focus on doing my best for the club.
“I prefer to dedicate myself 100% to what I can do. Sometimes things go well, sometimes they don’t, but it is not for lack of will and dedication.”
Royal arrived in North London in 2021 as Spurs paid closer to £26 million to Barcelona for his service. But he has failed to adjust to a more attacking wingback role as he is known for his acute defensive skills. there won’t be a dearth of suitors for the right back. But the North Londoners might have to lower their price in a bid to facilitate a transfer.
