Liverpool want Eljif Elmas, Jurgen Klopp has called the player

Jurgen Klopp called Napoli midfielder Eljif Elmas as Liverpool are trying to conclude a deal for the midfielder.

According to eminent journalist Ahmet Ercanlar, the Liverpool manager already informed Napoli player Eljif ELmas of his intention to sign the player as soon as possible.

Multiple players have been linked with Liverpool as the Merseyside giants are aiming to upgrade their current crop of players. Their recent performances haven’t really lifted the morale at the club and Klopp has been looking for some reinforcements to bolster his squad.

A dearth of quality in the midfield has been their main problem as there have been uncertainties in the middle of the pitch throughout the season. The likes of Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner are one step away from leaving the club while Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara haven’t really stepped up on a regular interval.

So at least one midfielder should be a priority when the window opens next month and Elmas could be that player. The youngster has fallen in the pecking order as Luciano Spalletti has mostly preferred Piotr Zielinski, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Stanislav Lobotka in the midfield.

This could be a boon in disguise for Liverpool as they could get their hand on a very promising player. He is best suited when he is deployed through the middle while he can also be effective from the left flank. The 23-year-old could add some much-needed cover for a number of positions.

Jude Bellingham has remained Liverpool’s main focus but they do need additional bodies to square up a sizeable number of gaps in the squad. It is not clear whether Napoli are ready to get rid of the Macedonian international but if a substantial offer arrives they will definitely consider their options.

The Reds are willing to assess their options in January and they might be interested in a deal for the midfielder who is likely to cost much less than his other contemporaries. There are no severe competition as of now and they could have an easy ride to their target as it stands.
