Barcelona will be able to secure the services of 26-year-old Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard for just €15 million next year.
According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona will be able to sign Benjamin Pavard for a cut-price fee in the summer transfer window. Bayern Munich will demand only €15 million to part ways with the 26-year-old defender next year.
Benjamin Pavard has enjoyed phenomenal success in the last half a decade. The Frenchman rose to prominence by winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France. And he has continued on the winning ways since joining Bayern Munich from VfB Stuttgart in July 2019.
The 26-year-old has won three Bundesliga titles and the UEFA Champions League. And Pavard has enjoyed a solid 2022/23 season thus far, chipping in with four goals in 21 appearances. But the player’s attitude issues have been in the spotlight lately and featured just once at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Nonetheless, Pavard remains a hot property in the market, with Barcelona interested.
The French international has already iterated his desire to embark on a new adventure soon. And Bayern Munich will cash in on him in the summer transfer window when he will have only twelve months left on his contract. And the player will be available for only €15 million next year, which should appeal to Barcelona.
Barcelona will likely enter the market for a right-back in the summer due to Hector Bellerin’s inconsistencies. The Spaniard arrived at Spotify Camp Nou in August after the Catalan giants failed to sign their top targets. But Bellerin has failed to make his mark thus far and will likely leave next year. And Pavard has emerged as a viable target for Barcelona.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup finalist is an appealing option for Barcelona, considering his price tag. And despite their financial woes, the Catalan giants should not have qualms about shelling out €15 million to sign Frenchman.
Recent reports have claimed that Barcelona and Pavard have been in touch to discuss a potential move. And with Bayern Munich ready to part ways with him for €15 million, a summer deal is on the cards.
