Newcastle United ready to offer £50 million to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Newcastle United have set their sights on £50million-rated Napoli attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and could raid the Serie A club for his services in the upcoming transfer windows.

According to The Times, Newcastle United are interested in signing Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in a £50 million blockbuster move and have made him their top target for the upcoming two transfer windows.

The 21-year-old winger has become one of the hottest prospects in world football after starring for the Serie A leaders in the 2022–23 season.

The Georgia international only joined Napoli from Dinamo Batumi for just €10 million last summer, but it could take at least £50 million to prise him away from the Naples outfit after his stellar performances in recent months, with his contract with the Partenopei not expiring until 2027.

Billed as “Kvaradona” at Napoli, with comparisons already being made to club legend Diego Maradona, he has been a revelation for Serie A league leaders and has been firing on all cylinders for Napoli this season, scoring eight goals while providing ten assists in 17 appearances across all competitions.

He has also starred in Europe, having propelled Napoli to top their Champions League group ahead of Liverpool, with the Georgian recording two goals and three assists, one of which arrived in a 4-1 smashing of the Reds.

His impressive performances have attracted admiring glances from Europe’s biggest clubs, with Manchester United alongside Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain all keeping a close eye on the left winger ahead of a potential approach for his services in the future. Now, cash-rich Newcastle United are taking a keen interest in signing the mercurial talent.

The Magpies’ uber-rich owners look set to continue investing after their superb start to the season sees them sitting third in the Premier League table. They are widely regarded as prudent spenders, having made a lot of good long-term acquisitions.

While this is an exciting rumour, and the prospect of having a terrifying front line that includes him, club record signing Alexander Isak, and Allan Saint-Maximin would be exhilarating in every way, Napoli have no reason to sell him next month, as they are currently top of Serie A with an eight-point lead and on course for a historic Scudetto feat.

Furthermore, there are other reports claiming that it would take as much as €100 million to even test Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis’ resolve, who happens to be quite a tough negotiator.

At just 21, the Georgian already has the world at his feet. He has stupendous production from the left wing, and in order to land a player of Kvaratskhelia’s ilk, Champions League football is a must for the Magpies next season.
