Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Chelsea are reportedly among the clubs that are monitoring Vitor Roque at Athletico Paranaense.
According to a report by Globo Esporte, Vitor Roque has emerged on the radars of several high-profile clubs. Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Chelsea are all tracking the Brazilian sensation’s progress. And the teenage prodigy has a release clause worth €100 million in his contract with Athletico Paranaense.
Vitor Roque is the latest promising prospect to emanate from the conveyor belt of prodigies in Brazil. The 17-year-old spent the best part of his formative years with Atletico Mineiro and Cruzeiro. And the teenage whizkid made his first-team debut for Cruzeiro in October 2021 as a 16-year-old.
But the Brazilian sensation has risen to prominence since joining Athletico Paranaense. And Vitor Roque enjoyed a solid 2022 season, amassing 14 goals and five assists in 51 appearances, scoring once every 180 minutes. That is a handy tally for a teenager. So it is hardly surprising that bigwigs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Chelsea are keen on signing him.
Barcelona and Real Madrid have been keeping tabs on the teenage prodigy for much of 2022. And with the two Spanish heavyweights having a storied history of housing talented Brazilian players, it is hardly surprising that Vitor Roque has emerged on their radars.
But it is unclear how Real Madrid might fit Roque into the scheme of things after reaching an agreement to sign Endrick. The Palmeiras sensation should ideally be Karim Benzema’s long-term successor. So unless the Merengues want to have two options for the central striker’s berth, the Athletico Paranaense prodigy is not a viable target.
So Barcelona and Chelsea, who had also been keen on signing Endrick, will be better destinations for Vitor Roque. The 17-year-old can potentially be a long-term offensive solution for both clubs. But the Brazilian sensation will unlikely come cheap, considering he has a release clause worth €100 million in his contract.
