West Ham United submit enquiry for Sasa Lukic

West Ham United have been linked with a move for 26-year-old Serbian midfielder Sasa Lukic in recent weeks.

According to a report from Tuttosport, as relayed by Sport Witness, West Ham United are keen on signing Sasa Lukic from Serie A club Torino. And they have made an enquiry regarding a potential move for the 26-year-old central midfielder. It will be interesting to see if the Hammers decide to follow up on their approach with a concrete offer for the player in the coming weeks.

The Serb has a contract with Torino until the summer of 2024 and he could be available for a reasonable price at the end of the season. If the 26-year-old does not sign a new contract with the Serie A club, he is expected to be sold at the end of the season in the summer.

Lukic has done well for club and country over the past year, and he has three goals and an assist to his name this season. Meanwhile, West Ham United could lose players like Declan Rice at the end of the season. So David Moyes should look to start planning for replacements soon.

The 26-year-old could be tempted to join West Ham. And the opportunity to move to the Premier League will be a tempting proposition for him. The player has already showcased his qualities in Serie A, and he will want to prove himself or a higher level now.

Lukic did reasonably well with Serbia at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and it will be interesting to see if he can secure a move away from Torino in the coming months. The midfielder is reportedly valued at €15 million, and West Ham certainly have the finances to afford him. They were recently offered the chance to sign the Serb amid negotiations with Torino for Nikola Vlasic.

The box-to-box midfielder would add goals and creativity in the middle of the park, and he will help out defensively as well. The midfielder is at the peak of his career right now and could make an immediate impact at West Ham.

The Hammers will face competition from clubs like AS Roma and Lazio. It remains to be seen whether they can fend off the competition and convince the player to move to the Premier League.
