Mykhaylo Mudryk could be keen on a transfer to Arsenal amid growing links to Mikel Arteta’s side in recent weeks.
Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that Mykhaylo Mudryk could be keen on signing for Arsenal. The journalist has claimed the Ukrainian forward remains impressed by the Gunners’ current position. Hence, he could move closer to signing for the north Londoners.
Arsenal and Mykhaylo Mudryk remain the hot topics of the transfer market. The 21-year-old winger is a top talent coming out of Europe, and naturally, many big clubs are chasing his signature. Since the Gunners entered the chase, the Ukrainian attacker is adamant about moving to north London.
Mudryk first expressed his interest in playing for Arsenal in an interview. He recently blasted Shakhtar Donetsk for their exorbitant asking price. The Ukrainian giants are adamant about the player’s value and considers him their prized asset.
Shakhtar reportedly want £88 million for the 21-year-old winger, which might stop Arsenal from considering a deal. Considering the many media stories linking Mudryk to a move to north London, it’s clear he is Mikel Arteta’s primary choice.
According to Dean Jones, Arsenal’s current position in the Premier League would have attracted Mudryk. Hence, the journalist suggests the 21-year-old winger might be keen on a move to the Emirates.
Arsenal certainly are in a rich vein of form both in the Premier League and Europe. Arteta somehow managed to get to this stage without major injuries or absentees. Hence, there is a concern regarding squad depth, especially in the wide attacking areas.
Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have carried the side for much of the season. And Arteta must add quality depth to the wings. A few options like Cody Gakpo and Leandro Trossard have been mentioned recently, but Mudryk remains their primary target.
Arsenal are willing to pay a hefty price for the Ukrainian, but not to the tune of £88 million. The pressure will be on Shakhtar ahead of the January window, as the player may start pushing for a move. They could lower the asking price but may still demand a sizeable return.
Mudryk would be a great fit for Arteta. In the final third, the 21-year-old winger’s explosiveness and directness will be key to maintaining the levels to challenge for the title.
