Manchester United are plotting an audacious swoop for Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior as they continue to explore new options in the transfer arena.
As per Spanish outlet Fichajes, Manchester United are tapping into the idea of signing Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid as their next marquee player. The Red Devils had a pretty successful summer transfer market, and they will continue to rebuild their squad in the next few transfer windows.
Erik ten Hag has been given the task to restore Manchester United’s glory days, and he has been promised to be funded sufficiently to back up his efforts. The former Ajax manager already broke the bank to sanction the arrivals of Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez and Antony in the summer. But the fund injection won’t stop here as the Red Devils are destined to welcome a few more entrants over the course of the next couple of transfer windows.
Roping in a forward has been the Manchester United manager’s priority as his current crop of attackers have not managed to build that kind of rapport in the attacking third. In addition, the impending departure of Cristiano Ronaldo would create a major void which needs to be filled pretty soon.
Ronaldo’s recent interview could entangle him with a legal hassle as the club is contemplating tearing up his contract which would also allow them to make room for another player.
Vinicius Junior has been Real Madrid’s trump card for the last couple of years, and Los Blancos would use all their resources to block his move from the club. The Brazilian international has reportedly already signed a new contract committing another five years to Real Madrid. But the deal has not been announced.
He has excelled at the Santiago Bernabeu pretty vigorously and has taken his game to a whole new level. The 22-year-old will compete with Marcus Rashford, who has also revived his form this campaign, for a spot in the left flank.
However, given the complexity of the deal, Manchester United need to knock down Real Madrid off their perch as snatching a talent like Vinicius Junior would require a lot of money, and they can surely afford that kind of finances.
