Arsenal are looking at Fares Chaibi from Toulouse as the exciting midfielder continues to shine in Ligue 1.
According to Foot Mercato, Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in Fares Chaibi in January. The midfielder continues to impress with Toulouse in Ligue 1. Mikel Arteta is looking at exciting opportunities in the window, with the 19-year-old one of the possible players on their shortlist.
Fares Chaibi is steadily getting the recognition he deserves in Ligue 1 after impressing with Toulouse this season. The current campaign is also his breakthrough season. So far, his two goals and four assists in 13 games are more than suitable for bigger sides to notice the 19-year-old midfield sensation.
Sevilla are one of the clubs keen on signing Chaibi and could make an approach in January. The Spanish outfit like the midfielder and the talents he possesses. They face tough competition in the market, with Arsenal looking at the Toulouse midfielder.
Mikel Arteta has earmarked a total build-up of the Arsenal squad, which has taken its course over the last two summer transfer windows. While the Gunners look formidable at the top of the Premier League charts, there is still plenty of work pending with this squad.
Arsenal possess a good starting eleven and a few quality players on the bench. Arteta now wants to form a group with efficient players in each position. The central midfield is a place where they need more specific options.
The north Londoners want to address the holding midfield depth by targeting Palmeiras’s Danilo. There are vacant berths in the other central positions. Granit Xhaka is playing on the left side, while Albert Sambi Lokonga cannot get into Arteta’s stylistic requirements at Arsenal.
The Gunners could even consider letting the Belgian depart if a suitable offer arrives. Arsenal are already linked with Adrien Rabiot, an established and experienced player in the position. Arteta could be looking at a young player he could develop in a specific mould.
The 19-year-old midfield sensation could prove a wise purchase and is already showing immense talent at a tender age. Toulouse are in a good position with his contract, which lasts until 2025. The Ligue 1 outfit could demand a bigger fee if the competition for Chaibi increases.
