Manchester United are reportedly looking to offer new deals to Marcus Rashford and Diogo Dalot.
Marcus Rashford and Diogo Dalot be out of contract at the end of this season. And 90min are reporting that the Premier League are confident of securing an extension with both of them.
Rashford has found his rhythm again this season and he has been an important first-team player for Erik ten Hag. It is no surprise that Manchester United are looking to tie him down to a new long-term deal.
After scoring just five times last season, he has already bagged seven goals across all competitions this season. The 25-year-old will be looking to build on his impressive start and improve further as the season progresses.
Manchester United are lacking a reliable goalscorer right now and Rashford is their only hope. Losing him in the summer would be a major blow, especially with Cristiano Ronaldo set to leave as well. The 37-year-old was Manchester United’s main goalscorer last season but he has fallen down the pecking order this year and he will leave when his contract runs out in the summer.
Meanwhile, young right-back Diogo Dalot has been on a roll this season. The 23-year-old has now cemented his place in the starting lineup ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and he has been a key player for ten Hag.
He is much better than Wan-Bissaka going forward and has one goal and two assists to his name so far this season. Dalot is yet to reach his peak, and ten Hag will want to hold on to the player through his best years. Letting him leave on a free transfer would be a mistake right now.
A player of his potential has no shortage of suitors and Manchester United should look to secure an extension with him soon. Both Rashford and Dalot will be able to negotiate pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs during the January transfer window and it remains to be seen whether they are ready to commit their long-term futures to the Red Devils.
