Manchester United have prioritised the signing of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, a target for Liverpool.
As per a report by Daily Mirror, Manchester United will use all their might to land Jude Bellingham next summer. The Red Devils squandered a chance as they could not convince Birmingham City to sell the player. And they might have to pay around £100 million to make the English midfielder, a target for Liverpool, their marquee signing.
Bellingham’s rise to the top has been scintillating, as he has grown leaps and bounds since his departure from England. Borussia Dortmund provided him with the perfect environment and resources to grow at Signal Iduna Park. And the result is quite evident as he has emerged as one of the most in-form midfielders in the world.
Bellingham is destined to don the England jersey when the 2022 FIFA World Cup starts later this month. And all his suitors will be keeping a stringent eye on the target. Manchester United brought in Casemiro and Christian Eriksen to stabilise their midfield woes, and Bellingham could add some more thrust to their already improving midfield.
Manchester United were locked in a battle for Frenkie de Jong the entire summer and it is high time for them to shift their attention from the Barcelona midfielder. But the Red Devils are aware of the fact they need to build their reputation from scratch as young players often do not seem to be tempted a move to the club.
Bellingham has attracted interest from every corner of the club, and the likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City will be actively pursuing the player. Both Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola has been hunting a midfield machine to engineer their team, and the 19-year-old has been top of their list for quite some time.
For Carlo Ancelotti, he already has the service of two of the most top young midfielders in Aurelian Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga. And adding Bellingham on top of that would make them invincible.
If Manchester United maintain the current course, their chances of getting Bellingham at around £100 million would definitely increase. And a spot in the UEFA Champions League would guarantee them a chance in this much-hyped transfer. With Liverpool lagging in the Premier League, the Red Devils should fancy their chances.
