La Liga giants Valencia are reportedly ready to offer an escape route to Manchester United outcast Donny van de Beek in January.
As per Fichajes, Valencia will try to get a deal done for Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek. The player has not had many opportunities with the Red Devils and would be keen for more game time.
Since joining Manchester United in 2020, van de Beek has failed to impress a number of managers with his potential. Erik ten Hag’s arrival was supposed to be a sweet reunion with the player, but persistent injury issues have derailed his plans.
The arrival of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro also played a pivotal role as both the midfielders have been an integral part of the squad and have provided their service under all circumstances.
The Manchester United manager recently spoke highly of Donny and hinted that the player will be used once he regains his full-match fitness. He came on against Sheriff Tiraspol for a brief cameo but was not involved as Manchester United got the better of West Ham United in the Premier League.
His reduced playing time means he won’t be in Louis van Gaal’s plans for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. But van de Beek will be in the scheme of things at Manchester United, and should he impress under ten Hag with his skills and will be taken back into the national setup.
Valencia have managed to stay in the hunt despite their limited resources as manager Gennaro Gattuso does not want to leave the pitch without a proper fight. Los Che have thus been resurgent in La Liga this season.
An injury-time Robert Lewandowski winner curtailed their joy. But Valencia are still very well placed in the 10th position, and the Italian manager would be looking for some valuable reinforcements in January.
Donny van de Beek loves to play in an advanced role, but he has this all-round ability as he can pull the strings from a much deeper position. The Manchester United outcast currently pockets home to the tune of £100,000 per week. And his enormous wages could threaten his move as Valencia do not seem to have that much budget.
A loan deal would be ideal, with both the clubs sharing the wage as the midfielder already had an underwhelming loan spell with Everton last January. But it will be interesting to see if van de Beek can become a regular for Manchester United before the winter window.
