Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham are reportedly vying for 19-year-old Santos forward Marcos Leonardo.
According to Calciomercato, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham are keen to bring Marcos Leonardo to the Premier League. The prolific Santos teenager has expressed his desire to move to England in the past, which could point towards an imminent transfer.
Santos have been instrumental in producing some worldly talents over the years. Neymar, Gabigol, and others have emerged on the big stage thanks to their immense development of young players. Another such star is in the making with Marcos Leonardo.
The 19-year-old Brazilian forward has seen his stature in football rise after a brilliant season with Santos. He has scored 11 goals in 28 league appearances this term, alerting a few Premier League giants to stand up and take notice.
Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham are possible challengers for his signature, while Napoli are also chasing the youngster. There is a good case for either of those clubs from England to make a case. All those clubs have a Brazilian presence in their squad, but so do the Serie A giants.
Leonardo was previously linked with Liverpool, although it may seem the other three Premier League giants are on the hunt. The 19-year-old Brazilian forward may look at some of the players present at Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester United, which could tempt him to join any of them.
The Gunners recently recruited Gabriel Jesus to add to the Brazilian contingent of Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes. They are all players growing in stature under Mikel Arteta, while former Sao Paulo youngster Marquinhos is also making a mark in north London.
Tottenham may not have a solid Brazilian contingent, but Richarlison is a big enough name to attract some young stars to the club. Antonio Conte is not known to rely on youngsters too much, but he has always had an eye for precious talents.
Manchester United signed Antony in the summer and already have the likes of Fred in the mix. Under Erik ten Hag, the Red Devils are on the ascendency and would be open to adding an exciting youngster of Leonardo’s calibre. Their presence may not be deemed sufficient but good enough for any player from Brazil to settle in nicely.
As the season progresses towards the January window, the links with Leonardo are expected to increase. There could be more clubs in the mix, as playing somewhat regularly will be the 19-year-old’s primary objective over joining a big-name club.
