Kylian Mbappe has been linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain, but Real Madrid are not looking to sign him in January.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Real Madrid will not launch the offensive to sign PSG talisman Kylian Mbappe. The player is unhappy at Parc des Princes, and he is looking to leave the French outfit.

The player was heavily linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu at the start of the season, with Florentino Pérez openly admitting his desire to sign the World Cup winner. It was rumoured at the time that the deal was virtually agreed. But Mbappe backed out in the last minute and opted to sign a lucrative contract with PSG.

However, it has been a season of ups and downs for the French international. He has had problems Neymar, and his prima donna attitude has been widely criticised. So it will be interesting to see if he can secure an exit in the coming months. Signing Mbappe in January would be a massive challenge for any club, and Real Madrid have no intent of making their move.

Defensa Central claim that Perez was left annoyed with Mbappe’s decision during the summer transfer window. And a move will only be possible if the player apologised to Real Madrid and Perez at the end of the season.

Real Madrid were prepared to make him the crown jewel of their project, and the player turned it down in favour of more money. Clearly, that has rubbed Perez the wrong way. So it remains to be seen whether the two parties can mend the fences in the summer.

As for now, a January move is definitely off the cards. Meanwhile, Mbappe is on massive wages at PSG, and they offered him a long term contract. Any move would be impossible without their approval, and it will be interesting to see if they are willing to give into this demands.

Meanwhile, recent reports also claimed that PSG will look to block a move to Real Madrid for Mbappe. As things stand, the Frenchman is in a pickle, and his future is uncertain. With the 2022 FIFA World Cup coming up next month, Mbappe will need to clear his head and stay focused on performing at a high level for his country.
