La Liga champions Real Madrid are reportedly weighing up a 2023 Bosman move for 27-year-old Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.
According to a report by Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Milan Skriniar is the subject of interest from Real Madrid over a possible Bosman move in the 2023 summer transfer window. The 27-year-old defender is in the final year of his contract with Serie A giants Inter Milan.
Milan Skriniar has been one of the best defenders in Serie A since joining Inter Milan from Sampdoria nearly half a decade ago. The Slovakian centre-back has come leaps and bounds in the last five years and played an instrumental role when the Nerazzurri won the Serie A title in the 2020/21 season.
The 27-year-old has been one of the first names on the team sheet at San Siro for a long time, turning out over 200 times for Inter Milan. But Skriniar’s long-term future at the Serie A club is up in the air as he has entered the final year of his contract. Such a situation has captured the attention of several European bigwigs, including Real Madrid.
The interest from Real Madrid is perplexing, considering they signed a centre-back this past summer. And Antonio Rudiger has been settling down well at the Santiago Bernabeu, throwing his name in the hat to become an undisputed first-choice centre-back for Real Madrid.
In addition, Eder Militao is already well settled at Real Madrid, and David Alaba has produced world-class performances since arriving from Bayern Munich last year. And with Nacho being arguably the best backup centre-back in the world, the reigning La Liga champions do not need to sign another central defender.
Nonetheless, it looks like Real Madrid might be interested in signing Skriniar in a Bosman move in the 2023 summer transfer window. But Los Blancos will have to fend off stiff competition from Paris Saint-Germain to sign the 27-year-old Inter Milan defender.
PSG might even launch the offensive for Skriniar in the January transfer window. Meanwhile, the Serie A giants are attempting to tie Skriniar down to a new contract. But the report claims that the Slovakian defender has made up his mind to leave Inter Milan in 2023, and it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid is his next destination.
