Arsenal are keen to raid Juventus for Dusan Vlahovic and Fabio Miretti
According to Calciomercatoweb, Premier League giants Arsenal are keen to raid Italian heavyweights Juventus for star striker Dusan Vlahovic and talented midfielder Fabio Miretti.
The Gunners have impressed this season and could be primed to make it back to the UEFA Champions League if not mount a surprise title charge. Mikel Arteta is putting together a young side that is still finding its feet and could explode should an infusion of quality be made.
Gabriel Jesus’s arrival from Manchester City in the summer gave the Gunners’ attack more bite, and it could be about to get even better. Dusan Vlahovic is one of the most clinical strikers in Europe and is a beast of a player in the right system. Despite impressing at Juventus, the Serbian hasn’t quite hit his stride and is part of a Bianconeri side that is grossly underachieving.
The same can be said of youngster Fabio Miretti, who is among the few shining lights in the Juventus squad this season. Massimiliano Allegri’s side have suffered several reversals this season and does not appear likely to turn its fortunes around. This has seen some of their best players linked with a move away from Turin.
Arsenal have a youthful roster, and the addition of Miretti and Vlahovic will certainly be a step in the right direction. The duo could cost a combined €115 million and will be bang for the buck. The former will add youth and impetus in the middle of the pitch, while the latter will further reinforce a rejuvenated frontline that is once again banging in the goals.
The Gunners are a team on the up, while Juventus are currently a side that is rudderless at sea. There is something special brewing at the Emirates, and it will be interesting to see if the North Londoners can pull off the coup of all coups. While Juventus could do with the money, it makes little sense for the Italians to sell off two key cogs that should prove key in their rebuild.
Arsenal admittedly are punching above their weight, and one could argue that the Juventus duo are currently out of the Gunners’ league. While they might have started well this season, there is much for Arteta and Arsenal to do before reaching the position where they can land players of the Juventus duo’s ability.
