Fulham table offer to sign Layvin Kurzawa

Fulham remain in talks with PSG to sign Layvin Kurzawa on a permanent deal, with the French giants willing to let the defender leave.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Layvin Kurzawa is a priority target for Fulham in the final days of the summer transfer window. Marco Silva needs a new left-back, and Kurzawa is reportedly available for a transfer, as PSG remain open to letting him leave as discussions continue between the clubs.

Fulham have done considerably well with their summer transfer business, with Marco Silva getting his way with recruiting new players for the challenge of a new Premier League season. The Portuguese manager wanted to strengthen the squad significantly as the main objective was to remain in the top flight.

Some signings like Joao Palhinha have stood out among the rest, although the Fulham manager is looking for new options before the summer transfer window shuts down. So far, the new arrivals have performed admirably, with Fulham going unbeaten in the first three games, only to lose against Arsenal on Saturday at the Emirates.

Silva need a new left-back before the deadline, with Fulham having Layvin Kurzawa in their sights. The PSG defender is unwanted in Paris and could be allowed to leave for the right offer. The Ligue 1 champions are somewhat relaxed about the situation considering the player has two years left on his deal.

The 29-year-old’s place was usurped by Nuno Mendes, who arrived on loan last summer, and PSG have since made the Portuguese international’s move permanent. There is no place for Kurzawa on their side, with Fulham angling for a permanent transfer for the left-back.

Talks are ongoing with PSG, as the final fee is reportedly being discussed. The Cottagers hope to appease the player and his club to complete a move on time. The details of the bid from Fulham are unknown at this time, but it may be in line with PSG’s demands.

Fulham also considered Sergio Reguilon earlier, but considering many factors, a deal for Kurzawa may be more appealing. The Tottenham defender would have cost a lot compared to the PSG outcast, something the Cottagers have considered. Kurzawa will get ample playing time at Craven Cottage this season, something he won’t achieve at PSG.

Whether he is personally open to joining Fulham also remains to be seen, although the signs so far have been positive. Fulham are expected to get this deal over the line and agree on a fee with PSG in the next few days. Kurzawa will bring tremendous experience to this team built by Silva and offer plenty in their quest to remain in the Premier League next season.
