Real Madrid reject €90 million bid for Federico Valverde

La Liga champions Real Madrid have reportedly turned down a bid worth 90 million bid for Federico Valverde from an unnamed Premier League club.

According to a report by 90 min, Real Madrid received an offer worth €90 million from an unnamed Premier League club to part ways with Federico Valverde in the ongoing transfer window. But the reigning La Liga champions have no interest in selling their young midfielder anytime soon.

Federico Valverde is a shining example of Real Madrid’s successful forays in the South American market in the last few years. The Uruguayan international spent most of his formative years in his homeland, starting at Estudiantes de la Union before joining Penarol, where he went from strength to strength.

The 24-year-old subsequently aroused the interest of Real Madrid and several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea. But Valverde eventually joined Real Madrid half a dozen years ago. And after impressing on a loan stint with Deportivo La Coruna, he established a foothold in Los Blancos’ first-team squad.

The young midfielder has established himself as a key figure after steadily rising in stature at the Santiago Bernabeu in the last four seasons. And he has proven his worth to Carlo Ancelotti in the past year, reprising different roles in midfield and attack for Real Madrid since the start of the 2021/22 season.

Valverde has been in fine form in the early days of the 2022/23 campaign, featuring in every game thus far while scoring one goal. But Real Madrid recently received an astronomical bid to part ways with their star midfielder this summer, with an unnamed Premier League club offering €90 million for him.

Valverde has previously captured the attention of several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United. But Real Madrid will not listen to any proposals for Valverde and rejected the €90 million bid immediately.

While several midfielders are on Real Madrid’s radar, including Enzo Fernandez, Valverde’s stock will only rise at the Bernabeu in the coming years. And it will not be surprising to see the Uruguayan international play for Los Blancos until his thirties at the very least.
