Arsenal are interested in Ukrainian star Mykhaylo Mudryk who is making waves with his performances.
According to Media Foot Marseille, Premier League giants Arsenal are keeping close tabs on Ukrainian wonderkid Mykhaylo Mudryk in the closing days of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have enjoyed a fine transfer window, strengthening several positions. This has reaped benefits on the field as Mikel Arteta’s side have won their opening three games and sit pretty at the top of the Premier League table.
Arsenal are not yet done in terms of recruitment and are keen to add to their attack. The player on their radar is Mudryk, who is making waves in Ukraine with his ability as a footballer. The 21-year-old is seen as the Ukrainian superstar of his generation and has attracted attention from several parties.
A winger who can play on either flank, the Shakhtar Donetsk star can also function as a central attacking midfielder. A good dribbler, Mudryk is a player who, under the right guidance, can develop into an excellent talent. The Gunners appear set to part ways with Nicolas Pepe this summer, paving the way for them to make a move for Mudryk to take the Ivory Coast singer’s spot.
The 21-year-old is held in high regard and has been nicknamed the Ukrainian Messi. While such hype could be overstated, living up to expectations at a club such as Arsenal will demand much more. Good on the ball and capable of beating his marker for pace, Mudryk does have the raw minerals needed to thrive out wide.
The prospect of him linking up with the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe is exciting. It will give Arteta a group of young attackers, all of who can develop and succeed together. While Mudryk still has much to do to reach that level, there are few clubs like Arsenal who can offer him decent playtime from the off.
The North Londoners are also interested in Lucas Paqueta, and it appears evident that another attacker is on the agenda. While Mudryk might not be at Paqueta’s level yet, he is much cheaper and could prove to be bang for the buck down the line. Available for around €20 million, the onus is now on Arsenal to make their move.
