Fulham are closing in on Justin Kluivert, with Roma wanting €10 million for the transfer of the left-winger.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Fulham are close to securing Justin Kluivert in the coming days from AS Roma, with the Italian side seeking €10 million for the winger’s transfer. Marco Silva is keen to add the player to improve the attacking depth on the left-hand side, having already signed Manor Salomon.
Fulham have already signed several players in multiple positions this summer. The key objective for the Cottagers is to ride the challenge of the Premier League and remain in the top flight next season. To do so, Marco Silva has had the backing of the club’s board to strengthen his squad.
The Portuguese manager has brought in quality players that will upgrade the side that won the Championship last season. One of the critical areas to strengthen was the left-hand side of the attack, as Silva closes in on another wide attacker after completing the loan signing of Manor Salomon.
Justin Kluivert is close to signing for the Cottagers, despite seeing interest from other clubs. West Ham have been keen on the winger, while there are Italian sides interested in him. But it seems the Cottagers could be on the verge of wrapping up the transfer from Roma.
Fulham have been interested in Kluivert and were waiting to understand Roma’s demands for the winger. The Italian side want €10 million to sanction an exit, which the Cottagers are ready to pay up.
Kluivert has spent the last two seasons on loan away from Roma. He performed well for OGC Nice in 2021/22, scoring four goals and assisting five times in 27 Ligue 1 appearances. Before that, he was with RB Leipzig and had a modest campaign.
Jose Mourinho does not count on the winger, who has a year left in Rome. €10 million for the 23-year-old would be good business for Roma, who will then look to re-invest the money into recruits.
As things stand, Fulham would want to finalise the signing at the earliest possible. Kluivert could become their sixth major summer signing, following Joao Palhinha, Kevin Mbabu, Andreas Pereira, Solomon and Bernd Leno, and add tremendous value to their squad.
