La Liga champions Real Madrid are reportedly tracking the situation of 25-year-old Austrian striker Sasa Kalajdzic at Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart.

According to a report by Spanish publication AS, Sasa Kalajdzic is the subject of interest from Real Madrid over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old VfB Stuttgart striker could become a serious target for Los Blancos if several attackers depart from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Sasa Kalajdzic spent the first half a decade of his professional career in his homeland Austria before joining VfB Stuttgart in July 2019. The Austrian striker has had a few big injuries during his stint with the Bundesliga club, but he has still managed to produce the goods whenever he has been fit to feature.

The 25-year-old has a solid record of 24 goals and nine assists in 57 appearances for Stuttgart. At the same time, the player is also a regular for the Austrian national team. And Kalajdzic’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with some of Europe’s most high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid, setting their sights on him.

Carlo Ancelotti recently insisted that Real Madrid will not delve into the market for another player in the summer transfer window after signing Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni. But the Real Madrid manager has changed his tune in the last few days, with speculation surrounding the futures of Marco Asensio, Borja Mayoral and Mariano Diaz growing like wildfire.

Mayoral looks the likeliest to leave Real Madrid this summer, with Getafe closing in on securing his services. And Los Blancos will enter the market for a striker if Asensio and Mariano also depart from the Santiago Bernabeu, making Kalajdzic a viable target.

The 25-year-old is not the only striker on Real Madrid’s radar, with Los Blancos also keeping tabs on Noah Okafor, Roko Simic, Benjamin Sesko, and a few others. But Kalajdzic might be the ideal candidate to initially arrive as a backup for Karim Benzema before succeeding the Frenchman.

However, a move for the Stuttgart striker will only see the light of day if Asensio, Mariano and Mayoral leave. If not, Ancelotti will continue his experiment with Eden Hazard as a central option, apart from Mariano and Asensio. But the 25-year-old remains an option to bolster the Real Madrid attack this summer.
