La Liga champions Real Madrid want to secure the services of former Barcelona trainee Iker Bravo on a season-long loan deal this summer.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Real Madrid will look to sign Iker Bravo on an initial season-long loan deal in the summer transfer window. The 17-year-old Spanish forward, who previously trained with Barcelona, is also a target for Atletico Madrid.
Iker Bravo started his youth career with Espluguenc but spent most of his formative years with Barcelona. While the teenage prodigy progressed through the ranks rapidly at La Masia, he chose to end his footballing education at Bayer Leverkusen in the hopes of securing a quicker pathway to first-team football.
The 17-year-old former Barcelona trainee also made his first-team debut for Bayer Leverkusen after joining the German club last summer. In doing so, Bravo briefly became the youngest ever debutant for Die Werkself at 16 years and 298 days. And the Spanish wonderkid has earned several admirers with his exploits, with Real Madrid among his prospective suitors.
The reigning La Liga champions are renowned for constantly foraying into markets in Europe and beyond for the most prodigious young prospects. Such an outlook has helped Real Madrid create a seamless transition from one generation to another. This can be best felt in the midfield unit, with Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurelien Tchouameni ready to take over from Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Casemiro.
But Real Madrid will also need to do the same in other departments, especially to have a long-term successor for Karim Benzema. The French international has been unstoppable in the last few years and has transformed into a talismanic figure for Real Madrid. But Benzema is well into his thirties, making Iker Bravo a viable candidate to succeed him.
The former Barcelona trainee is not the only prodigious forward on Real Madrid’s radar, with Los Blancos also monitoring the progress of Samed Bazdar, Daniel Osorio, and Benjamin Sesko, among others. And Real Madrid will look to sign Bravo on an initial season-long loan deal.
The offer will also hand the Merengues the option to sign the 17-year-old permanently. And with the former Barcelona prospect keen on joining Real Madrid, the Spanish giants might cruise in the race to sign the Bayer Leverkusen whizkid, beating Atletico Madrid to his signature.
