West Ham United are ready to hand Piotr Zielinski a contract worth €6 million per year, although they still have to convince Napoli over the transfer fee.
According to Marco Giordano, West Ham United are prepared to increase the salary offer for Piotr Zielinski to €6 million per year to convince the midfielder over a move. However, the Hammers are yet to find a way to convince Napoli to agree on a fee, with the Italians demanding €38-40 million, including bonuses.
West Ham United are ramping up their efforts to sign Piotr Zielinski, as David Moyes considers the Polish star one of his priority targets. The Hammers have taken a giant step towards convincing the player to move to London by making a sizeable contract offer.
West Ham opened talks with Napoli over Zielinski a week ago and have continued to discuss terms with the Serie A giants. Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis always wants around €40 million for the 28-year-old, which the Hammers considered quite steep.
The east London outfit recently lodged a €25 million offer, which has not convinced the Italian side. Napoli are demanding a fee between €38-40 million, including bonuses, with West Ham likely to come back with an improved bid to get closer to the asking price.
Meanwhile, reports emerged about Zielinski being uninterested in a move to the London Stadium, which has prompted the Hammers to ramp up their efforts to change his mind. West Ham United are now prepared to improve the salary package for the midfielder by offering him a deal worth €6 million per season.
The pay package is certainly an attractive proposition in addition to playing and living in London. Zielinski could be tempted by such a proposal, although a decision is yet to be made.
Zielinski is considered one of the priority signings by Moyes, who has already wrapped up Gianluca Scamacca’s arrival. However, Napoli’s asking price could prove to be a problem, although the Hammers are expected to find a resolution and make an offer that comes close to €38-40 million in the coming days.
With the new season set to begin in around two weeks, Moyes and West Ham will hope to wrap up the signing as soon as possible.
