Barcelona and Real Madrid will reportedly have the chance to sign 26-year-old Spanish international Fabian Ruiz from Napoli this summer.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Fabian Ruiz could leave Napoli in the summer transfer window. Barcelona and Real Madrid will have the opportunity to secure the services of the 26-year-old Spanish international in a cut-price deal ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Fabian Ruiz joined Napoli from Real Betis in July 2018 and has gone from strength to strength in the last four years. The Spaniard is one of the best midfielders in Serie A and has also established a foothold in his nation’s international team.
The 26-year-old has turned out 166 times for Napoli thus far while chipping in with 22 goals and 15 assists. But Ruiz has entered the final year of his contract with the Partenopei and might depart from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in the summer transfer window. And Barcelona and Real Madrid will have the chance to sign the Spanish international.
Ruiz has featured on Barcelona and Real Madrid’s radar, and widespread reports have claimed that he is keen on joining either of the two La Liga heavyweights if he leaves Napoli. But there have been suggestions that Ruiz does not feature on either club’s radar over a move in the ongoing transfer window.
While Barcelona will not launch the offensive for Ruiz amid the pursuit of Bernardo Silva, Real Madrid might put off a move for the 26-year-old until next year. Widespread reports have claimed that Los Blancos will look to sign the Spanish international in a Bosman move in 2023.
Silva will be a top-class replacement for Frenkie de Jong if the Dutchman departs from Camp Nou. Meanwhile, Real Madrid signed Aurelien Tchouameni a few weeks ago and will only bring in a successor for Luka Modric next year. But Barcelona and Real Madrid will have the chance to sign Ruiz this year for a cut-price fee.

With Ruiz in the final year of his contract with Napoli, securing his services on the cheap is a possibility. But it is unclear if Barcelona or Real Madrid will take up the opportunity to prise Ruiz away from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in the ongoing summer transfer window.
