Tottenham table €20 million offer for Benjamin Sesko

Tottenham have reportedly made an offer of €20 million for Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko, who is also on the radars of Liverpool and Real Madrid.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko and have tabled an offer worth €20 million for the Slovenian teenager. The forward is also being tracked by Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Sesko spent the early years of his youth footballing career at NK Krsko and NK Domzale in his homeland of Slovenia before moving to Red Bull Salzburg. Upon arrival, the striker regularly featured for FC Liefering, who serve as the reserve team for Red Bull Salzburg, scoring 22 goals in 44 matches.

Sesko made his senior debut for Salzburg in 2021 and has played 36 times so far, netting ten goals and setting up seven more. He has earned 12 caps for the Slovenian national team despite being just 19 years old and has netted two goals in the process.

Sesko’s progress and potential have alerted several clubs across Europe. Real Madrid have been linked with the 19-year-old striker for a while now, as a potential backup for Karim Benzema considering that both Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz are set to depart this summer.

Liverpool, too, have been credited with an interest in Sesko. The Reds have lost Divock Origi, Sadio Mane and Takumi Minamino this summer but have brought in Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho to reinforce their frontline. However, with Roberto Firmino’s future also hanging in the balance, another attacking addition could be on the cards at Anfield.

Tottenham have also entered the race to sign Sesko. The Lilywhites have had an exciting summer so far, bringing in Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison. But Antonio Conte could look to add another forward to his ranks to ensure adequate support for Harry Kane in the No. 9 slot.

And as per the report, Tottenham have now tabled an offer worth €20 million for Sesko. Considering that he still has four years left on his contract, whether the Austrian giants are willing to accept the terms offered by the Lilywhites. The north Londoners are also looking at Barcelona’s Memphis Depay as another alternative to bolster their options in attack and have lodged an enquiry.
