Real Madrid plan to resume talks with Real Sociedad for Takefusa Kubo

Real Madrid are reportedly ready to restart negotiations with Real Sociedad over a possible loan exit for Takefusa Kubo this summer.

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid are hoping to reinitiate discussions with fellow La Liga club Real Sociedad as they look to loan out exciting prospect Takefusa Kubo this summer.

Kubo, who previously spent time with Barcelona’s La Masia youth setup, joined Real Madrid from FC Tokyo in the summer of 2019. However, he is yet to make his first-team bow for the Spanish capital club as he has been out on loan each season since arriving in Madrid.

Kubo spent the 2019/20 campaign at RCD Mallorca and had a stint at Villarreal in the first half of the 2020/21 season before spending the second half of the term at Getafe. The 21-year-old winger was back at Mallorca last season, where he played 30 games in all competitions, scoring two goals and setting up three more.

An exciting talent, Kubo has yet to kick on and showcase his full potential in Spain. But with game-time unlikely to come in a world-class Real Madrid squad, another exit seems a likely possibility this summer. Real Sociedad have shown an interest in the Japanese international and have even made an offer to take him away from Real Madrid.

However, the reigning Spanish and European champions have knocked back the offer from La Real as they only intend to loan Kubo out for the next campaign without any buy option inserted.

Real Madrid rate Kubo very highly but are aware he needs to be playing regularly to flourish and develop into the star they hope he can become. So, they are open to loaning him out and ready to negotiate again with Real Sociedad as they wish to send him to San Sebastian for the upcoming campaign.

With Adnan Januzaj departing from the club and Mikel Oyarzabal sidelined with a long-term injury, Kubo stands a great chance of getting regular minutes if he joins the Basque outfit. Stylistically as well, the Japanese prodigy could be a good fit for Imanol Alguacil’s side. Hence, Real Madrid are open to resuming talks with Sociedad as they hope to come to an agreement to loan Kubo to their La Liga rivals.
