Miguel Gutierrez reportedly wants to leave Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, with several La Liga clubs keen on signing the 20-year-old defender.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Miguel Gutierrez is keen on leaving Real Madrid in the summer transfer window to secure regular game-time elsewhere. The 20-year-old defender will likely depart from the Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent amid interest from several La Liga clubs.
Miguel Gutierrez started his youth career with Getafe before joining Real Madrid as a 10-year-old in 2011. The young Spaniard progressed through the ranks rapidly at La Fabrica before making his first-team debut in April 2021 under Zinedine Zidane’s tutelage.
But the 20-year-old endured a frustrating 2021/22 season as he managed only four appearances for the Real Madrid first-team. However, Gutierrez was solid for Real Madrid Castilla, amassing two goals and eight assists in 16 appearances. However, while the youngster flourished for the reserve side, he wants to feature prominently at the first-team level in the 2022/23 season.
As a result, Gutierrez seeks a summer departure from the Santiago Bernabeu to get his career back on track. And Real Madrid will unlikely stop the Spanish defender from leaving, with Los Blancos reportedly ready to loan him out in the summer transfer window.
Gutierrez has no shortage of suitors either, with Real Betis, Real Sociedad, and Villarreal reportedly keen on securing his services in the summer transfer window. The interest from the three La Liga clubs will likely turn Gutierrez’s head amid his desire to leave Real Madrid.
But while Gutierrez wants a departure from the Santiago Bernabeu, possibly for good, he will only likely get a loan move away from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. But leaving Real Madrid is imperative for the 20-year-old, considering Antonio Rudiger’s arrival has left David Alaba as an additional left-back option for Carlo Ancelotti.
So while Marcelo is leaving Real Madrid as a free agent, Gutierrez’s prospects at Real Madrid are not improving anytime soon. It will be interesting to see where he heads off to next, and joining a La Liga club could be on the cards.
