Barcelona will reportedly not take up the opportunity to secure the services of 28-year-old Argentine international Paulo Dybala in a Bosman move.
According to a report by Spanish publication SPORT, Paulo Dybala has offered himself to Barcelona over a possible Bosman move in the summer transfer window. But the Catalan giants are not interested in taking up the offer to sign the 28-year-old Argentine international, with their priorities lying elsewhere.
Paulo Dybala has spent most of his professional career in Serie A, arriving in Italy by joining Palermo a decade ago at the age of 18. But the player grew into prominence after moving to Juventus in July 2015, cementing his status as one of the best forwards in the Italian top flight.
While the 28-year-old blew hot and cold at the Allianz Stadium in the last seven years, he remained a pivotal figure for Juventus for the most part. But Dybala’s stint with Juventus will officially end in less than a week after 293 appearances, where he raked in 115 goals and 48 assists. And the Argentine international’s next destination could have been Barcelona.
Barcelona will delve into the market for at least one attacking reinforcement in the summer transfer window, with Robert Lewandowski their priority target. Recent reports have claimed that the Catalan giants are preparing a new bid to edge closer to securing the services of the Bayern Munich striker.
At the same time, bolstering the right-wing berth has emerged as a priority for Barcelona amid uncertainties surrounding the future of Ousmane Dembele. Raphinha is Barcelona’s preferred target for the position, but they are no closer to signing the Brazilian international yet.
As for the offer to sign Dybala, the Argentine international is not a good fit at Camp Nou, as Xavi Hernandez has implemented a system that does not suit the 28-year-old’s qualities one bit. So it is hardly surprising that Barcelona will not take up the offer to sign Dybala in a Bosman move this summer.

Barcelona had cooled interest in Dybala a few months ago, and with his talks with Inter Milan stalling, the player is in limbo. A move to the Premier League might have been on the cards, but that trail has also gone cold, meaning it is unclear where the 28-year-old Argentine international will ply his trade next season.
