West Ham United make contact for Giacomo Raspadori and Gianluca Scamacca

West Ham United have made contact with Sassuolo for attacking duo Giacomo Raspadori and Gianluca Scamacca to bolster their options.

According to 90 Min, West Ham United are targeting Sassuolo duo Giacomo Raspadori and Gianluca Scamacca to bolster their front options. The Hammers have reportedly made contacts to understand the availability of the players as they look to bring them to London.

West Ham United have entered one of the most important transfer windows in their history. David Moyes remains keen to bolster his squad as he aims to bring quality players in several positions. Strengthening all areas across the pitch is considered vital after the team suffered from a lack of depth last season, but the manager has his priorities set.

West Ham United have already brought in defender Nayef Aguerd from Rennes in a £30 million deal. And Moyes will now divert his focus to other priority areas, as he desperately searches for a new striker. West Ham have been linked with various players in the position, with Sassuolo duo Giacomo Raspadori and Gianluca Scamacca emerging as their latest targets.

West Ham United are looking at Armando Broja, but the Albanian could be a difficult target considering he is contracted to London rivals Chelsea. Hence they are exploring the idea of bringing in the Serie A duo, who had good individual seasons with Sassuolo.

Raspadori scored ten goals for the Neroverdi last season, while Scamacca contributed with 16 strikes in Serie A. The latter has been in the news since the season concluded, with links to many big clubs. The Italy international was initially touted as a target for Inter Milan, who have since agreed a move to re-sign Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea.

There is no room for Scamacca to sign for a big Italian club in this window, which could mean a move abroad could be on the cards. PSG had shown some interest in the 23-year-old striker, although West Ham could be an intriguing option for the Italian international.

Raspadori plays in a second striker position for Sassuolo but is capable of playing up top in the No. 9 role or out wide on the left flank. The versatility of the 22-year-old attacker could appeal to Moyes and West Ham United as he would add depth in more than one position in the squad.

To that end, West Ham United have reportedly made contacts with Sassuolo to understand what it may take to bring Scamacca and Raspadori to the London Stadium. The Neroverdi could be open to offloading at least one of their two forwards this summer after having signed Agustin Alvarez.

Scamacca and Raspadori are well settled in their homeland and have recently been integrated into Roberto Mancini’s Italian national team. But a chance to play in the Premier League could be a tempting prospect for the Sassuolo duo, although any move would require West Ham United to make an appealing proposal for the Serie A club.
