Leeds United are interested in Ola Aina, who enters the final year of his deal at Torino, and the Italian side may have to sell for a cut-price fee.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Leeds United are keen on Ola Aina, as Jesse Marsch sees the Torino star as a quality addition to his defence. The former Chelsea youth player is entering the final year of his deal at the Italian side and may be the subject of a cut-price move.
The late-season injury that Stuart Dallas suffered has made Leeds United consider bolstering the right-back position. The Northern Irishman has been a solid servant for the club and may continue to feature once he returns, but the Whites may look at different options in the summer at full-back.
Jesse Marsch wants to rectify the shortcomings from the previous season where Leeds United narrowly escaped relegation. Many corrections are needed to the playing squad, and the American manager has already started making moves in the window. A striker is certainly needed this summer, alongside a winger, a few defenders, and a midfielder.
The club has already made inroads in securing a few players of their choice, with the likes of Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen arriving from Red Bull Salzburg.
Despite the signing of Kristensen to strengthen the right-back slot, Leeds United are looking at another new player to join them in this window, due to the injury to Dallas.
And Torino’s Ola Aina is being linked with a move. It is believed that Leeds wants both the players in the window and the former Chelsea youth star could be available on a cut-price move. He is entering the final year of his contract with the Italian side, so there is an opportunity with the player.
Leeds will look to secure the player with immense talent who has been performing well since signing for Torino, although he did not see a lot of game-time in the second half of the 2021/22 campaign. Furthermore, given his contract situation, an exit looks extremely likely.
And Leeds United have seemingly taken the first step towards signing the former Chelsea starlet by launching an approach through intermediaries to assess the possibility of a transfer. Leeds, though, are not the only club interested, and it remains to be seen if the Whites can get the deal over the line.
