Fiorentina have reportedly submitted an offer for Hector Bellerin, but a move will depend on Real Betis’s decision on the Arsenal defender.
According to El Chiringuito, Fiorentina are keen on signing Hector Bellerin in the summer, with the right-back free to leave Arsenal. The Serie A giants have reportedly made an offer for the Spaniard, but a move will depend on his ability to join Real Betis permanently.
Hector Bellerin’s stock has considerably gone down in the last few years. Once touted for a big move to Barcelona and other big clubs, the Arsenal right-back has seen his future being called into question, and it has come to a complicated point.
Having spent the 2021/22 season with Real Betis on loan, Bellerin is keen on remaining with the Andalusian club for the foreseeable future. However, the Spanish side may not be able to afford to pay Arsenal’s asking price, which could be a knocked down fee considering the player only has a year left on his deal.
Bellerin helped Real Betis win the Copa Del Rey this past season and played a good role in their campaign. However, despite his wish to remain at the Benito Villamarin Stadium, a move could fail to materialise if the Spanish side cannot find an agreement with Arsenal during the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, there is no shortage of offers, as Serie A giants AS Roma are keen on signing Bellerin. Jose Mourinho has seen enough evidence of the Arsenal defender’s qualities and wanted assurances of his physical capabilities. The full-back has not been the same since suffering an ACL rupture a few years back and has constantly struggled to perform consistently.
However, Bellerin’s performances for Betis this past season have proved the doubters wrong, and the player has shown the ability to play at his best levels. Roma could be interested but will face competition from Serie A rivals, with Fiorentina angling for a move.
La Viola have reportedly made an offer for Bellerin and are waiting for his answer. Florence could be an interesting destination for the Arsenal defender, although there is another complication for the club. Fiorentina reportedly backed away from paying a pre-agreed amount for Lucas Torreira, causing complications between the two teams. It could further create trouble for Fiorentina if they are keen on signing Bellerin.

There is no clarity on the value of Fiorentina’s offer for Bellerin. The Spanish right-back’s desire to stay put at Real Betis could further complicate Fiorentina’s chase. However, if Arsenal and the Andalusian club fail to agree on a fee, a move to Serie A could be on the cards for the full-back.
