Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are reportedly closing in on completing the capture of Liverpool forward Sadio Mane in a €30 million deal.
According to a report from L’Equipe, Bayern Munich are on the verge of sealing the services of Sadio Mane. The Bundesliga club’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic had met with the Liverpool forward’s agent in Mallorca earlier this month, and the two parties are close to agreeing a three-year contract. Mane is convinced of the Bayern project and wants to join the club next season.
Bayern themselves could reach an agreement with Liverpool that will see Mane join the Bavarians for a fee of just €30 million. The German rekordmeister will be able to sign the Liverpool star on a cut-price deal as the forward’s current contract at Anfield expires at the end of next season.
Bayern Munich’s acquisition of Sadio Mane could serve as a massive boost for FC Barcelona, as the Bavarians are roping in the Senegalese international as a direct replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
The former Borussia Dortmund starlet has his heart set on a move to Barcelona this summer. The addition of Mane, therefore, could enable Bayern to listen to offers from the Blaugrana over a summer move for the Pole. Bayern are expected to earn around €30-40 million from the sale of Lewandowski, which should be enough to compensate for the arrival of Mane.
Jurgen Klopp: “Sadio Mané to Bayern rumours? I couldn’t care less, at the moment… he’s focused on the final. It’s not the first time that I have had a Bayern rumour come up just before a big match”, he added. ? #LFC pic.twitter.com/tbunWBtLb7

As for Liverpool, losing the explosive winger could serve as a massive blow. With 120 goals and 48 assists in 268 competitive matches, Mane has been an extraordinary servant to the club over the years, helping the Reds secure one UEFA Champions League and one Premier League title among many other accolades.
But as he looks to escape the shadow of Mohamed Salah and create his own legacy away from Liverpool, the Senegalese international is hoping to embrace a new challenge in the Bundesliga next season.
Bayern have identified the former Red Bull Salzburg forward as an ideal replacement for Lewandowski, with coach Julian Nagelsmann likely to utilise the Liverpool star as a centre-forward. His ability to operate as a winger, though, could grant countless tactical possibilities for the German tactician.
In an attempt to replace Mane, Liverpool have entered the market for a few wide attackers, including Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele. With the Frenchman rejecting a contract extension at Camp Nou, Anfield has emerged as a potential destination as he looks to take the next step in his career following a promising start to the year.

For the time being, though, Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has refused to comment on Mane’s future and a potential €30 million move to Bayern Munich and is focusing on the upcoming UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid.
