Premier League side West Ham United have been told to fork out €35 million to land on-loan Juventus star Moise Kean.
According to Calciomercato, Premier League side West Ham United have been told what they need to pay up to sign talented young Italian attacker Moise Kean in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old came through the ranks at Asti and Torino before making his first-team bow for Juventus in 2016. He made 21 appearances for the Bianconeri before moving to Everton in 2019. Kean never quite got into the groove at Goodison Park and was loaned out in 2020/21 to Paris Saint Germain and then Juventus a season later.
His return to the Allianz Stadium has done little to boost his profile. Despite a rather underwhelming return of six goals from 37 appearances for the Turin giants, it would appear that Juventus could exercise the option to sign the player permanently.
But then, it would only be a temporary measure as they could flip him to other interested parties for a profit in the summer. Massimiliano Allegri is ready to sacrifice the 22-year-old, and a return to England could be in the offing. West Ham United are on the lookout for a striker who can act as a backup to Michail Antonio and have earmarked Kean as a potential transfer target.
A move for the young Italian will not come easy as Juventus are seeking around €35 million for Kean’s services. Breaking the bank for Kean will comfortably make him West Ham’s record signing to this date. Whether the 22-year-old is worthy of that moniker is debatable.
At 22, Kean is still very young and has a long career ahead of him. While his development might have stalled of late, there is no reason why he cannot rediscover his form and go on to fulfil his potential. He also has better odds of replacing Antonio in attack rather than a player of Dusan Vlahovic’s pedigree at Juventus.
David Moyes has worked wonders with the Hammers and could be set to embark on a second successive season in Europe with the London-based side. He has also shown an aptitude for getting the best out of his attacking players. Jesse Lingard and Jarrod Bowen both were impressive under the Scotsman, and there is no reason to believe that Kean won’t follow in their footsteps.
A move to the London Stadium could be a win-win for all parties involved. Juventus get rid of a player who has been underwhelming while West Ham lands themselves a player with untapped potential who is yet to hit his stride. More so, Kean himself could do with a fresh start, and West Ham could provide him with just that.
