Manchester City are monitoring the development of FC Augsburg whizkid Dzenan Pejcinovic.

A recent report from Sport1 has offered a comprehensive list of Bundesliga-based talents tipped to make an impact in the upcoming season. Among them is FC Augsburg starlet Dzenan Pejcinovic, who has become one of the most sought-after prospects in Germany following his blazing performances in the youth divisions.

Manchester City are also monitoring the progress of the young forward, who currently plies his trade with Augsburg Under-17s. Juventus, too, are keeping close tabs on the youngster and will be ready to pounce on any opportunity to snap him up in the coming summer.

Pejcinovic originally hails from the Bayern Munich youth ranks. But he joined the Augsburg setup in 2017, hoping for a quick route to first-team football. The move appears to have paid dividends for the player, who has enjoyed a swift rise to prominence in recent years.

The 17-year-old has netted 12 goals in the U17 Bundesliga division this term. His blazing performances have even earned him a few appearances at the Under-19 level.

A centre-forward by trade, Pejcinovic is extremely strong inside the box and offers the physical presence that resembles the style of Erling Haaland. The 17-year-old is very competent inside the penalty area and is a natural goal machine, who has been prolific even at the international youth level, scoring 16 goals in 13 matches for Germany U17.

Needless to say, Pejcinovic’s talent has not gone unnoticed, with Manchester City keeping close tabs on his progress at FC Augsburg. Having roped in Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, it appears the Premier League giants are ready to add like-for-like alternatives in the youth department that has produced a bunch of exciting talents lately.

However, luring Pejcinovic from Augsburg could be a tricky task for Manchester City this summer. The youngster is happy with his life in Bavaria and views real prospects of making an impact in the Bundesliga in the coming years.

Given his performances in the youth leagues this term, coupled with Augsburg’s apparent lack of lethal goalscorers, Pejcinovic might even earn a call-up to the senior side in the coming season, becoming a part of the FCA setup that is set to undergo a series of changes following the abrupt the exit of coach Markus Weinzierl.
