La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid are reportedly weighing up the prospect of selling Casemiro for €50 million amid interest from PSG and Juventus.

According to a report by Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte, Casemiro’s future at Real Madrid is no longer set in stone. The Merengues are open to cashing in on the experienced midfield powerhouse amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, slapping a €50 million price tag on him.

Casemiro has come leaps and bounds since joining Real Madrid from Sao Paulo FC. The Brazilian midfielder initially joined Los Blancos on a loan deal for the second half of the 2012/13 season before completing a permanent transfer in the summer transfer window.

But the 30-year-old came into his own after returning from a season-long loan stint with FC Porto in 2014/15, establishing himself as a pivotal figure for Real Madrid. Casemiro has turned out 329 times for Real Madrid, chipping in with 31 goals and 28 assists. And the player’s importance at the Santiago Bernabeu has grown with each passing year, especially with Carlo Ancelotti not having a viable backup for him.

However, despite becoming a vital cog in the Real Madrid first-team squad, Casemiro’s future at the Bernabeu is not set in stone. According UOL Esporte, the experienced midfield powerhouse faces an uncertain future at Real Madrid, with Los Blancos open to cashing in on him in the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid’s stance over selling Casemiro comes from the desire to remodel an ageing midfield unit which also consists of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. As a result, several players have emerged on Real Madrid’s radar to be Casemiro’s replacement.

Aurelien Tchouameni is reportedly the priority target for the Merengues, who have also set their sights on Bruno Guimaraes. Meanwhile, there is no shortage of interest in the Brazilian international, with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus keen on snapping him up. But the two suitors will need to shell out €50 million to prise Casemiro away from Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants do not rule out keeping hold of the 30-year-old beyond the summer transfer window. But Real Madrid will likely sell Casemiro if a suitor can offer around €50 million in exchange for his services. An uncertain few months beckon Casemiro.
