Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly the front-runners to secure the services of Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio in the summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Juventus will look to sign Marco Asensio to replace Paulo Dybala in the summer transfer window. The Serie A giants have offered the Real Madrid forward a €7 million-a-year contract to move to the Allianz Stadium.

Marco Asensio has endured a rollercoaster ride since returning from a long-term injury layoff nearly two years ago. While the Spaniard has shown some signs of resurgence this year, he has been in and out of the starting lineup, competing with Rodrygo Goes for the only available spot in the attacking unit.

The 26-year-old has a solid tally of eight goals in 24 La Liga appearances in the ongoing campaign. But with Kylian Mbappe likely to join Real Madrid on a Bosman move in the summer transfer window, Asensio’s position at the Santiago Bernabeu could become more precarious than it is already.

In addition, with the player’s Real Madrid contract running out in a little over a year, a summer departure could be on the cards for Asensio, especially if he does not accept the current offer of a €4.5 million-a-year contract. The interest from Juventus stems from Paulo Dybala’s non-existent future at the Allianz Stadium. The Argentine international is set to leave the Bianconeri as a free agent when his contract runs out in the summer transfer window, thereby creating room for a new addition in the attacking unit.

Asensio is thus a viable target for Juventus, with Real Madrid reportedly open to selling him to make room for Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. And the Serie A giants are in pole position to snap up the Spanish international, according to Defensa Central, with a €7 million-a-year contract on offer.

The 26-year-old forward seems to be getting closer to leaving Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. At Juventus, he will have the chance to kick-start his stuttering career, as he will have a genuine chance to be a mainstay in the Serie A club’s offensive unit.
