According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester City have joined the hunt to sign French teenager Mamadou Coulibaly in the summer when Monaco will release him. Tottenham are also heavily interested in the 17-year-old, who could spark a transfer battle between the English giants.

There are plenty of ongoing issues at Tottenham at the moment, as the north Londoners seek to achieve some stability and move forward with the season ahead. While they have endured plenty of difficulties along the road, the club’s board are keen on building a team for the future.

Irrespective of what happens with their managerial situation, Tottenham will look to bring in some young players in the next window to start their plans for the future. One such player is Mamadou Coulibaly, who is set to become available in the next window.

The French teenager has been courted by Tottenham for some time now and club director Fabio Paratici will make a definitive decision on a move in the summer. While Tottenham are preparing to make a move for Coulibaly, there is also competition in pursuit of the teenager from Manchester City. The Premier League champions are keen on the 17-year-old, as Pep Guardiola looks to develop a squad for the club’s future.

Over the years, Manchester City have developed plenty of notable talents through their youth setup. The likes of Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and James McAtee, among several others, have seen their status elevate after coming through the club’s academy. The club remains keen on producing promising stars for the first team, and Coulibaly certainly fits the bill.

Coulibaly will be available on a free transfer when he gets released by AS Monaco in the summer. And, it will be an opportunity for the English teams to snap up a talented prodigy. The 17-year-old midfielder is yet to play a senior game and has already turned heads with his talent.

It remains to be seen what transpires of the teenager and where he ends up in the summer. There is also some interest from Italy, most notably from AC Milan, who are planning to step up their pursuit of Coulibaly. However, the lure of the Premier League and the chance to potentially work with managers like Antonio Conte and Pep Guardiola could be too strong to ignore for the teenage prospect, who has been likened to Eduardo Camavinga.
