La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid are reportedly closely monitoring the progress of 16-year-old Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Roque.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Vitor Roque is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The Merengues are keeping a close watch on the 16-year-old Brazilian wonderkid, with Juni Calafat impressed by his performances at the age-group level for Cruzeiro.
Vitor Roque is the latest Brazilian sensation to emerge on the radar of high profile clubs across Europe. The teenage prodigy is one of the brightest attacking prospects in his country and has made quite an impression with his versatility and scoring ability, in addition to being ambipedal.
The 16-year-old is already a part of the first-team setup at Cruzeiro, recently representing the club in the Campeonato Mineiro. The Brazilian wonderkid’s progress has not gone unnoticed either, with Real Madrid among the European bigwigs to set their sights on him.
The Spanish giants are renowned for having bolstered their squads by signing many Brazilian prospects over the years, with Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes the latest to make their mark in the first-team setup. Real Madrid’s continued forays into the Brazilian market have yielded links with several prodigious attackers, including Endrick, who has the world at his feet.
In addition to the Palmeiras wonderkid, several other Brazilian talents like Matheus Nascimento, Gabriel Pirani and Angelo Gabriel are also on Real Madrid’s radar. Vitor Roque is the latest to emerge on Real Madrid’s radar, with Juni Calafat closely monitoring his progress through age-group football and the Cruzeiro first-team squad.
But signing Vitor Roque will be a complicated process for Real Madrid, considering Cruzeiro and Atletico Mineiro jointly own his rights, split 65-35. The 16-year-old Brazilian prodigy has a €300 million release clause, making his acquisition even more of a daunting prospect.
Real Madrid will invariably not agree to pay €300 million to sign Vitor Roque. But if his steep ascent in stature continues, there is a high chance that the 16-year-old will be a more expensive acquisition for Real Madrid than Vinicius Jr. a few years ago.
