Bayern Munich Player Ratings vs VfL Bochum: 10/10 for MOTM Kimmich; Goretzka, Muller get 9 or more

Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka ruled the show as Bayern Munich secured an astounding 7-0 victory over VfL Bochum on Saturday.

Bayern Munich extend their winning run to seven games in all competitions with a thumping 7-0 victory over VfL Bochum on Saturday, at the Allianz Arena.

It was a domineering performance from the Rekordmeister, who were coming into the game on the back of a 3-0 victory over FC Barcelona. Bochum actually started the game well, create one or two half-chances, but a free-kick goal from Leroy Sane broke the deadlock and opened the floodgates as the hosts went on to score four goals in the first half.

There was further misery in store for Bochum after the restart, with Robert Lewandowski scoring the 5th in the 61st minute before goals from Joshua Kimmich and Eric Maxim-Choupo-Moting added more gloss to the scoreline, with Bayern registering their biggest ever victory over Bochum in the Bundesliga.

Here, at The Hard Tackle, we will rank the Bayern Munich players in their 7-0 rout over the Bochum this weekend.

Manuel Neuer: 6/10

Manuel Neuer didn’t have to break much sweat as VfL Bochum struggled to create too many chances going forward. But he was certainly lucky as Silvere Ganvoula’s goal was ruled out offside before the forward missed another golden opportunity during the final phase of the game. Another welcome clean sheet for the Bayern Munich goalkeeper.

The youngster is growing with confidence, moving ahead of Bouna Sarr in the pecking order, though he did make way for the Frenchman midway through the second half.

Niklas Sule: 7.5/10

Niklas Sule had a stroll in the park dealing with the likes of Sebastian Polter and Ganvoula. He looked strong in tackles and avoiding making any silly errors as Bayern keep another useful clean sheet in the Bundesliga, which has become a rarity these days.

Thomas Muller failed to find the back of the net against Bochum, but he was quite effective in the creative department. He made excellent movements in the final third, creating numerous opportunities for his team, including the assist for Gnabry’s goal in the first half while playing a crucial role for the seventh goal.

Leroy Sane: 8/10

Leroy Sane continued his fine run of form with yet another impressive performance. The former Man City winger is growing in confidence, as he created multiple chances in the final third as well as scoring the all-important opener with a direct free-kick. Made way for Marcel Sabitzer midway through the second half.

Robert Lewandowski: 7.5/10

Robert Lewandowski was not as dominant as he was in the Barcelona game. But he remained selfless and patient despite his lack of scoring chances and was finally rewarded with an opportunity to score in the second half.
