Chelsea Keeping Tabs On Highly Rated Ajax Youth

Chelsea scouts were joined by those of Manchester City and Arsenal to keep an eye on Ajax’s 19-year-old Dutch midfielder Riechedly Bazoer at Wembley on Tuesday in the Netherlands’ 2-1 win over England. The promising midfielder is rated at 24 million pounds.

Roma Defender In Talks For Improved Contract Amidst Chelsea Link

Reports from Football Italia say Roma have held talks with Greek defender Kostas Manolas for a new and improved contract amid interest from Chelsea and local rivals Arsenal.

The Greece international’s current contract is set to expire in 2019, and he has been heavily linked with a move to the English Premier League. Corriere dello Sport reported that the defender along with his representatives have already held a meeting with sporting director Walter Sabatini regarding a new deal. There will be no extension but the discussion held was about raising the 24-year-old’s current wages, which is estimated to be around €1.5m per year. The Italian giants have no intention of selling Manolas, according to the report, but he would be estimated to cost potential suitors around €30m.

Chelsea Target’s Price Quoted By Agent

Gianluigi Donnarumma’s agent Mino Raiola has responded to rumours linking his client with Chelsea. Mino Raiola is quoted as saying “For me it proves nothing, if there was a similar offer it was evidently presented to Milan,” by Gazzetta dello Sport. He went on to say “But I don’t know anything about this story. But if it’s true that there’s an offer of €38m (£30m), well I’d invest that money in signing Gigione.”

It is claimed by the Express that Chelsea are interested in signing the young keeper should Courtois look to leave in the summer. The Belgian has made his frustration heard with comments regarding the Chelsea defence, and his refusal to commit after a dismal season which will see Chelsea finish out of the top 4 and trophy less.

The Belgian’s reluctance to commit to Chelsea has raised questions regarding his future and possible replacements. However, Donnarumma’s agent has spoken up about a move to England for his client by claiming that this ‘proves nothing’, but insisting he would be worth a £30m fee.

Chelsea Look Set To Miss Out On Long Time Striker Target

Chelsea seem to have been dealt a blow in their attempts to sign Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain. According to Football Insider, Manchester United are willing to make a move for the Argentine and are looking to fend off any potential rivals by lodging a 74 million pound offer.

This fee is reportedly for the purpose of activating the 28-year-old’s release clause, and the deal to sign the ex-Real Madrid frontman will go through if Jose Mourinho replaces Louis van Gaal at the end of the season. The Blues were linked with Higuain in January, and it was said that he turned down a move to the London club because of competition from Diego Costa for the striker berth. The Blues remain interested in signing the striker, with Diego Costa now rumoured to be looking for a return to former club Atletico Madrid, as reported by the Express.

The report goes on to mention Chelsea’s Diego Costa as a potential player who could serve as said replacement. The Spaniard is contracted with the West London club until 2019. However, despite the uncertainty surrounding Griezmann’s future, the 25-year-old has stated that he is happy at Atletico and is focused on getting as far he can in the Champions League and the European Championships in the summer.

Chelsea Linked With Croatian Attacking Duo

Chelsea are reportedly targeting Inter Milan midfielders Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic in the hopes of bolstering their midfield in the summer. According to Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea are rumoured to be interested in acquiring Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, with the owner Roman Abramovich pushing for a move for the 28-year-old. The versatile attacker is usually deployed as a winger but can also play as an attacking midfielder or a second striker.

According to reports from TalkSport, his compatriot Marcelo Brozovic’s 6 goals in 27 appearances this term have played an important role in Inter Milan’s attempt to finish in the Champions League places this season, and have caught the attention of the Chelsea hierarchy.  Brozovic was linked with a move to local rivals Arsenal in January, but the Gunners decided against making an offer for the 23-year-old midfielder. In recent developments however, the Gunners and Chelsea will look to battle it out for Brozovic’s signature in the summer, with Arsenal reportedly closest to making the first offer of around 15 million.
