The week went from bad to worse for Manchester United as West Ham United inflicted a shock 3-1 defeat on Jose Mourinho’s men at the London Stadium on Saturday
The first half belonged to the hosts, who took little time to get on the scoresheet, as Felipe Anderson tapped in from Pablo Zabaleta’s cut-back in the Manchester United box. Chances subsequently came few and far between, but West Ham were two up as half-time approached, with Andriy Yarmolenko’s shot being deflected by Victor Lindelof into the back of his own net.
Manchester United upped their level post the interval, and they got their deserved goal when Marcus Rashford scored from a corner. But, all hopes of a comeback were squashed as moments later, Marko Arnautovic scored the simplest of goals after evading his marker.
With West Ham securing a 3-1 win, Manchester United fans took to Twitter to lambast Jose Mourinho, whose worries are growing with each passing game.
Haven’t got a clue who should replace Mourinho during a season. Weird to say but Zidane very much an unknown. What is clear to me is that it’s gone too far for Mourinho to salvage this. Really see no point in keeping faith from here.

Our season can still be saved, Give Mourinho his £26M, chase him & his negativity out of Man Utd. Give Zidane a 2 year contract, a fresh breath among the team.

Absolutely hurting. I’ve placed belief in Mourinho just as I placed belief in van gaal and moyes but every supporter has a breaking point. I just reached mine later than others. Abuse me all you wish but I only ever want best for a club I’ve followed since I could say ‘Cantona’.

One thing Mourinho had going for him, at least, was the defensive stability he put in place, especially at Old Trafford. That’s now gone. United are a mess at the back and he’s going as far as to putting midfielders at centre back. Every team will think they can beat Man Utd.

I accept José Mourinho would get a big pay off but nothing will please me more than seeing him get the boot at Man Utd
When things go his way he’s alright but when things go against him he’s a clown #WHUMUN

Dear Mourinho just resign before they sack you! pic.twitter.com/HHeldhEZLT

No manager has made me feel sorry for @ManUtd as much as Jose Mourinho has. Not LVG and not Moyes. LVG and Moyes were clearly out of their depth, but Jose Mourinho remained true to form in his approach that got him the sack in his last 2 jobs. Mistake from day one.

Manchester United fans also lambasted Mourinho’s decision to start Scott McTominay in a back-three, with the youngster not looking comfortable at all, during the game.
This is what you get when you play McTominay in the back & leave Bailly out in the bench… the tactics are really rally dreadful.#MUFC #WHUMUN pic.twitter.com/Z4jdcp33V4

Scott McTominay and Chris Smalling as the centerback-paring for Manchester United FC in 2018. Jose Mourinho has peaked.
— Fredrik (@F_Edits) September 29, 2018
Ahh Mourinho confirming the Moyes Era feeling by starting a makeshift RB, 4 central midfielders including the consistently useless McTominay vs a relegation battling side. Terrible selection even with Martial deservedly in the side. #mufc
— Hesham Bilal-Hafiz (@hesham786) September 29, 2018
Just remember we have Eric Bailly on the bench and we’re playing McTominay at CB. This loss is 100% on Mourinho. #MUFC

You think a break up is bad? Try going From Ferdinand & Vidic to Smalling & McTominay ?
— Isiah Madrigal (@Realisiah1) September 29, 2018
"McTominay was the best!" Mourinho….He cost you two goals! He's on another planet. And throws Martial under the bus in a defensive side.#mufc
