Manchester United made it back-to-back wins for the first time this season as they recorded a narrow 2-1 win over Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
It was a game of two halves, as Manchester United dominated the first half, and duly capitalised by grabbing a two-goal lead by half-time, courtesy goals from Romelu Lukaku and Chris Smalling. But, Watford grew into the game in the second half.
An Andre Gray goal in the 65th minute gave way to a frantic finish, but Jose Mourinho’s men held on to record their third win of the season that saw them climb the table once again. And, Manchester United fans expressed support for their manager following another positive return for the Red Devils.
Jose Mourinho’s reaction to Smalling’s goal. People say this man doesn’t love the club. I love this. pic.twitter.com/FBDxQRL7pd

Unless they moved it, Mourinho hasn’t lost the dressing room

#mufc fans already chanting ‘Mourinho’s Red Army’ and ‘Jose Mourinho’. Away end very loud yet again.

I didn’t want Fellaini to sign a new contract because I felt we could do better. But it’s evident Mourinho knows him & plays him according to his strengths. Today I’m thankful he’s signed a contract.
This is why Mourinho manages Manchester United & I manage a twitter account.

After showing no fight against Brighton and Spurs, it was so important we held out at the end, especially after the red card. We owe a lot of that to De Gea but a much better spirit from the players. Hard for people to justify claims that Mourinho has lost the dressing room. pic.twitter.com/FxEwXkUPAX

But, the hero of the night was David De Gea, who calmed the nerves in the Manchester United camp when Watford looked to be in the ascendancy.

People actually still think that Neuer is better than De Gea. It’s not 2014 anymore. DDG is the best keeper in the world.

Remember all those weird takes about De Gea at the World Cup. He should be on Sanchez money.
— Alex Shaw (@AlexShawESPN) September 15, 2018
That’s why De Gea is the best goalkeeper in the world. He doesn’t just produce world class saves, but he produces them when they really matter. He’s the difference between 3 points and 1 point today and he’s done it many times over the years.

David de Gea. We are not worthy.

No matter who United sign in the future no matter how big the name David De Gea will still be United’s best player the guy is unreal. Without him I dread to think where we would be. Love the man so much #MUFC #DeGEA

De Gea should have 3 European Cup medals, instead he’s mopping up our mess again. Make him the highest paid player in football, it’s what he deserves.
