Jamie O’Hara has urged Tottenham Hotspur to go all out to sign Evan Ferguson from Brighton next summer.
Evan Ferguson broke into the Brighton side last season under Roberto De Zerbi and has yet to look back ever since. Not only did he become one of their important prospects the previous term, but the Italian manager has placed more responsibilities on the forward in the new campaign.
The 18-year-old showcased his talent at the weekend with a magnificent hat-trick against Newcastle United at the Amex. He became one of four forwards in Premier League history to score a treble at that age and again became the focus of many experts who now believe a move in 2024 may appear inevitable.
After the game, De Zerbi was full of praise for the 18-year-old and chose to take the focus away from the three goals he scored. The Italian said, “Evan Ferguson, hard work. Trust me, he’s really working hard to become a top player — not just on scoring goals”. “He can become a big, big but very big player”.
Transfer speculation surrounding Ferguson’s future could go another notch if he continues with such performances. Arsenal are interested in 2024, and others like Manchester United or Liverpool could also come into the picture.
“If Tottenham had anything about them, they’d go all out next summer and sign Ferguson for whatever it takes.”@Mrjamieohara1 says Tottenham need to reinvest the Harry Kane money into Brighton’s Evan Ferguson.

Now, former Tottenham man Jamie O’Hara urges his club to go all out to sign the 18-year-old next summer and potentially replace Harry Kane. His comments appeared on The Spurs Web as the former midfielder wants to see Ferguson in north London.
O’Hara said, “If Tottenham had anything about them, they’d go all out next summer and sign Ferguson for whatever it takes.”
Brighton had reportedly placed a £120 million price tag on Ferguson, and if his performances continued in this vein, that could go up significantly higher. The 18-year-old has apparent similarities to former Tottenham talisman Kane, but the north Londoners will have to make a compelling offer and also beat rivals for his signature.
There were reports that Brighton rejected an approach from Tottenham this summer as they may have considered the 18-year-old a replacement for Kane. In truth, the Seagulls were never about to sell him in this window, as Ferguson only signed a long-term deal recently.
Brighton have shown they are willing to do business at their price, which may apply to Ferguson, too. However, while O’Hara harbours ambitions of seeing the 18-year-old at his club, Tottenham may face serious competition from their north London rivals Arsenal, who will likely enter the market for a new striker next summer.
