Tottenham remained in the hunt for the Premier League title as they ran out 2-0 winners over North London rivals Arsenal on Sunday
Tottenham maintained pace with Premier League leaders Chelsea with a comfortable 2-0 win over Arsenal in the North London Derby on Sunday. The result also ensured that Spurs will finish ahead of their arch rivals for the first time since 1994/95, and dented the Gunners’ Top 4 hopes as they remained sixth.
Tottenham retained control of the proceedings for the bulk of the match and got the closest to breaking the deadlock before the first half ended goalless. However, they finally grabbed a well-deserved lead ten minutes after the break through a close-range finish.
Two minutes later, Harry Kane doubled the advantage for Tottenham as he converted from the spot after being brought down by Gabriel. That goal turned out to be the clincher for Tottenham, who remained four points behind Chelsea in second place.
Here are the best tweets emerging in the aftermath of the convincing 2-0 win for Tottenham.

Arsene Wenger was a major talking point as Arsenal succumbed to a disappointing loss to their arch-rivals:
I can appreciate that Arsene is a bit scared of retiring or getting another job, but frankly, that’s not and shouldn’t be Arsenal’s problem.

It’s clear #Wenger is finished as a top level manager. No wins against any top10 club away from home. That on its own is a sackable offence!

Wenger likes to say “Judge Us In May” well its now May and my judgement is that you are finished and the sooner you’re gone the better!
