Thomas Frank did not shy away from commenting on potentially bringing back Harry Kane to the club, as he insisted the star is always welcome.
Harry Kane continued on his relentless goal-scoring form for Bayern Munich since joining them in 2023 in a massive deal from Tottenham. It was a first-ever big move for the prolific striker, who had spent most of his career at Spurs before that.
Kane has scored 98 goals in 103 appearances across all competitions for Bayern Munich, and despite some doubts over his age, the England skipper has shown no signs of slowing down. He is seen as an instrumental player by the Bavarians for their present and future, meaning there might be no way they will agree to part ways with him.
There have been rumours of a potential €60 million release clause in his Bayern Munich contract, which could be seen as an opportunity by some of the Premier League sides. Manchester United are already interested, should the conditions turn out to be right in the future, as they continue to find ways to bring players that would elevate them back to their glorious past.
Tottenham are also interested, if at all, Kane would like to make a return to north London. There’s an argument for the player, who is currently one of the best placed to beat Alan Shearer’s long-standing Premier League goalscoring record, and that might be a big factor that would tempt the €60 million-rated striker to make a return to England.
Thomas Frank was asked about a possible return for Kane, as the Spurs boss responded kindly and positively that the doors will always be open, as read in the comments on Fabrizio Romano’s post on X.
Frank said, “I think there’s a lot of Tottenham fans, including myself, who would like to see Kane back”. “If Harry wants to join us, he’s more than welcome”.
Meanwhile, the aforementioned factor about the goalscoring record in the Premier League might be a big factor for Kane before he retires. Given how he has performed at Bayern Munich, the German giants will not want to see him depart.
However, should a big team from the Premier League manage to trigger his release clause, there’s little that Bayern Munich could do to stop him from leaving. However, the €60 million-rated striker’s wage demands might be something that will bother Spurs, although the same cannot be said for Manchester United if they are serious about signing the England captain.
