Arsenal marched into the quarterfinals of the FA Cup after goals from Lucas Perez and Theo Walcott ensured a hard fought 2-0 win over Sutton United.
Arsenal faced a trip to non-league side Sutton United in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday when a place in the quarterfinals of England’s premier cup competition was on the line. However, the win didn’t come as easy as the Arsenal fans would have imagined as the side laboured to a 2-0 win over their hosts.
Clear cut chances were hard to come by for Arsene Wenger’s side as he sought to avoid another embarrassing result. Lucas Perez, though, eased the nerves midway through the first half as his cross-shot beat the Sutton goalkeeper following a dummy from Theo Walcott.
And it was Walcott who put the match beyond any doubt ten minutes into the second half, as the Arsenal skipper scored his 100th goal for the club with a cool finish from close range to set up a quarterfinal date with Lincoln City next month. Here are the best tweets following the result.

Wenger should take a hard look at lucas perez’s game and tell us why the guy doesn’t have a spot on our starting lineup

Anytime Lucas Perez gets on the field it’s magic. He’s always involved.

It’s time for Lucas Perez to become a regular starter at Arsenal. Such an intelligent player. Should start ahead of Iwobi. 100%.
