England swept aside a good Swedish side to book their place in the 2018 FIFA World Cup semi-final to trigger wild celebrations across the UK.
England are in the semi-final of a World Cup for the first time since 1990, as they soundly beat Sweden by two goals in their quarter finals clash. So far its been a terrific campaign for Gareth Southgate and his men in Russia, while many believe this is England’s best chance in decades to play in a World Cup Final.
The first goal came through a terrific Harry MAguire header in the first half and Dele Alli doubled England’s lead in the second half, as the Three Lions’ defence held their composure to stop any Swedish attack and advance.
But one man that was equally crucial to this win was England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford who continues to impress between the posts and made some crucial saves that were both vital and terrific at the same time.
This win sparked wild celebrations all across England, with the lyrics of their theme song for this Russian adventure ‘Its Coming Home’ echoeing all around. As it stands, there has been no better chance for it to come home, but a similar performance in the semi finals will ensure it takes the final steps towards making a dream happen.
For now England and its fans celebrate this victory with #ItsComingHome taking center stage.

For the last 15+ years watching England, my emotions have ranged somewhere between spirit-numbing indifference and sheer, vein-bursting fury. I forgot that watching them could be so much fun. Whatever happens from here, we’ve already won. (With that being said, #ItsComingHome)

I think I’m taking the “jokes” of the country going into meltdown if we win the World Cup more seriously now? People jumping on police cars and buses, stopping cars and taxis running, just for getting to a semi hahahaha unreal #3Lions #ItsComingHome pic.twitter.com/twapLzqtqu
