After a long injury layoff coupled with a barren run in front of goal, Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud returned to his old ways by finding the back of the net twice against a tame Sunderland outfit.
In fact, the French striker took little time to introduce himself as he managed to score with his very first touch in the game. After receiving an incisive lofted pass, Giroud put his left leg to great use as he slotted the ball past a helpless Jordan Pickford in goal. Moments later, with his second touch, Giroud once again saw his shot rattle the back of the net.
His movement throughout the game was inch-perfect, and earned a lot of plaudits on social media. Take a look:

We’ll win a lot of games using Giroud off the bench. I think Boro would’ve been one of them last week. Such a useful option.

Giroud has scored 2 league goals in 72 mins this season.
The same total as Kane, in 422 mins.#NorthLondon— David Wall (@1DavidWall) October 29, 2016
Proud to have been one of the only ones to stand by Giroud through the tough last few months

Tears…if Giroud scores more than Ibra as a 2nd choice CF…

That’s the best thing of having depth in the team. With Ramsey and Giroud coming on, I’ve forgotten that we’re actually missing Cazorla.

This game shows why we needed Giroud against Middlesbrough when we needed to switch to plan B.

Never have I been so jealous of an inanimate object but that camera that Giroud kissed…
